About us
Lisa Bowen started her journey as a healer, as many do, through illness.
After ignoring her body which was telling her, through Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), that she needed to slow down, she got hit by the road train called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). For a part-time soldier who ran 5kms most days, not being able to walk upstairs or from the car to the shops, was a huge shock. After hearing about the benefits of QiGong (Chee Kung) from her well meaning mother, Lisa was flabbergasted to receive a newsletter offering QiGong classes locally, especially for CF sufferers. Thanks Mum!
Regular practise increased her awareness of Qi, the Life Force Energy.
Talk about scary, this was voodoo stuff!
Surprise, surprise, along came an offer of a Reiki (Ray key) course. Reiki works with the same energy, Qi or Chi in Chinese & Ki in Japanese.
The realisation that she was the only one responsible for her own healing led Lisa to spend a fortune on Natural Therapies trying to find a way to assist her body to heal itself. This took her on a journey of discovery, training in Holistic Therapies including Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Massage, Person Centred Counselling & of course, Reiki with a distant dream of opening a healing retreat accessible to everyone regardless of financial status.
Sometime after the discovery that her CFS was caused by Toxic Overload, Lisa & her husband Mick came to the conclusion that the air quality in the UK was so bad that she would never regain 100% health, so they decided to emigrate to Western Australia theorising that if the cleaner air didn’t help, at least the sunshine would help keep her cheerful! So in 2002 they moved to Perth where they lived for two years before moving to Port Hedland in the North West of WA.
While living in Perth, Lisa trained as a Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner.
Since moving to Port Hedland she has trained as a Wu Tao (Woo Dow) Licensed Teacher (trained in Perth), become a Reiki Master, started teaching QiGong & travelled to China to study it further. Lisa has just finished a course on Hot Stone & Indian Head massage.
In 2005 Lisa started to work part-time from home as a Natural Therapist & in 2006 E li si Therapies was born.
True to the original dream the Mission Statement of E li si Therapies is
‘To provide healing for anyone regardless of financial status’.

The distant dream is now partial reality with the purpose built centre not so distant.
Dreams come in a size too big so that we can grow into them.
Where are we?
El i si Therapies is based in oresome sunny Port Hedland 1700kms north of Perth in the Pilbara, Western Australia. Population 15,000 split between Port and South Hedland and Wedgefield.
It is a remote industrial town with some of the biggest ships & longest trains in the world. Iron ore is the biggest export commodity with Port Hedland being the largest Iron Ore port in the world. It also the highest tonnage port in Australia for the third year running with over 110 million tonnes being exported last year.
It is also the only residential place in the world that is used by flatback turtles for nesting.
Whales & dolphins can regularly be seen at certain times of the year. Sections of the coast are lined by a coral reef which at low tide leaves rock pools which house a wondrous array of corals, sea anemones, octopus, sea cucumbers & other amazing sea life.
The raw natural beauty & amazing colours of the Pilbara brings out the artist in many people.
The town has the unexplainable ability to draw people back time after time. The lack of acceptable infrastructure frequently leads people to leave but most are drawn back to the relaxing lifestyle.
The current resources boom is addressing most of the issues with some exciting projects in the pipeline. Rumour has it that the area is sitting on a bed of Rose Quartz. There is certainly no shortage of a wide range of crystals often used in healing. These are easily found locally & nothing beats ‘going bush’ & discovering your own crystals & then gently tapping them out of the ground or even better, fossicking along a dry riverbed.
